Dog Sport Alliance Training Membership

I help Obedience competitors get the same performance at trials that they get at home so they can make their training dreams a reality with confidence and joy. Specifically, I help passionate handlers get solid, fluid performance in Obedience activities such as AKC obedience, TEAM training and Rally. I teach all aspects of the sport, including skill fluency, handling, show preparation and mindset work.

WHAT I SEE

In the 35 years I’ve been teaching and coaching, I’ve had countless teams come to me struggling with showing their dogs in Obedience and not understanding why.

Their training looks great, their dog responds beautifully AT HOME and everyone seems to be having a great time.

Then they get to the trial…and everything falls apart!

 A NEW MEMBERSHIP AND A NEW LABEL

These days there are so many sports/activities you can do with your dog it makes your head spin! I have trained and titled my dogs in a bunch of them–agility, tracking, protection sports, and more.

But none grab my heart or inspire my passion like Obedience. I got into this sport 35 years ago and today it is now my one and only.

However, as much as I love this sport, it’s long overdue for an update. The old ways create too much stress and pressure, and don’t leave enough room for joy, inspiration, and fun. Even the definition of the word ‘obedience’ does not describe what we are really striving for…Teamwork and Partnership.

Obedience definition: ‘Compliance to an order, request, or law or submission to another’s authority.’

How serious! How not fun! How not in keeping with the latest, cutting-edge approaches to training!

So! I’m changing what I call Obedience to suit my vision of the future. Of the reframe I believe we need as the way forward in this sport.

And that new name is…

Alliance Training!

Alliance definition: ‘A union formed for mutual benefit.’

The key word to focus on in this definition is MUTUAL.

I have BIG PLANS for Alliance Training, but we’re going to start simple to keep the focus on YOU.

DETAILS

1) We will meet four times a month for group coaching via Zoom. On these calls, I’ll teach you everything I know about how to be successful in this sport.

We will also explore your questions, work on your challenges, celebrate your successes, and support you however you need support in the moment. You can submit questions in advance, and meetings will be recorded if you can’t make them live.

2) Private members only Facebook Group for on-going support and discussion between calls. This will be a highly functional FB Group where I will post many training tips and videos and previews of what I am building into the platform.

Coaching calls will be on Wednesdays. Times will alternate weekly between 1:00 PM and 7:00 PM Pacific Standard Time.
